Enfinity Launches 33.8 MW Solar Project to Power Microsoft Operations in Italy

Renewable energy solutions provider Enfinity Global has commenced commercial operations at a new 33.8 MW solar PV power plant in Italy, representing the initial delivery of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Microsoft. This strategic partnership aligns with Microsoft’s ambitious sustainability goals and underscores the growing demand for corporate renewable energy procurement.

Founded in 2019, Enfinity Global boasts a substantial renewable energy portfolio encompassing 39.3 GW of operational and development projects, with an additional 37 GW currently under negotiation across the United States. The company’s success is underscored by its significant contractual commitments, having secured 808 MW of solar PPAs in Italy over the past two years, primarily targeting corporate and industrial clients.

This Italian project marks the first to reach commercial operation under a broader agreement covering up to 366 MW of renewable capacity. Enfinity and Microsoft are actively developing additional projects across Italy, indicating a commitment to scalable renewable energy solutions. The collaboration directly contributes to Microsoft’s stated goal of achieving 100% of its electricity consumption sourced from zero-carbon energy sources by 2030, as outlined in their 2021 launch of a 100/100/0 clean energy initiative.
